ALL4BIOREM Cluster: Uniting Innovations for Sustainable Bioremediation

Last year, the EDAPHOS project joined the ALL4BIOREM Cluster which brings together leading projects and experts dedicated to advancing sustainable bioremediation solutions across Europe. The cluster is focused on restoring polluted soils and ecosystems, therefore driving innovation through knowledge exchange and practical, science-based strategies.

By combining expertises and resources, the cluster aims to develop the way we clean and restore contaminated environments, ensuring sustainable practices that benefit both society and the planet.

It provided an excellent opportunity to exchange on common technological approaches for addressing several target pollutants that are studied in the projects of the All4Biorem cluster and to coordinate our efforts in the dissemination of the results of our projects.

Projects in the Cluster

The ALL4BIOREM Cluster brings together leading projects in the field of bioremediation:

  • EDAPHOS: Focuses on developing nature-based strategies for soil remediation through advanced monitoring, risk assessment, and field trials using poplars, co-crops and microbes.

  • MIBIREM: Develops a toolbox for microbiome-based soil remediation on industrially contaminated sites.

  • BIOSYSMO: Creates smart biological systems using computer models to break down and capture pollutants more efficiently.

  • NYMPHE: Develops custom biologics-based bioremediation strategies to remove at least 90% of pollutants from contaminated EU environments while enhancing biodiversity and meeting environmental standards.

  • ISLANDR: Tackles Europe's contaminated soils by mapping their occurrence and enabling economically viable remediation through low-input approaches and enhanced investment strategies.

  • SYMBIOREM: Curb environmental pollution with innovative bioremediation processes.

  • pHYBi: Uses a circular economy approach by employing phytomanagement on degraded soils to grow industrial crops that clean the environment and produce sustainable biomass for the bio-based textile industry.

  • MySOIL: Advances full-scale mycoremediation technology that uses fungi to efficiently degrade pollutants, offering a low-cost, eco-friendly solution with removal efficiencies comparable to thermal desorption.

(Additional projects may be included as the cluster grows.)

Join Us at the 9th European Bioremediation Conference

We are thrilled to announce that EDAPHOS, together with the All4Biorem cluster, will participate in the 9th European Bioremediation Conference in Chania, Greece. We invite you to register for this event that offers a unique opportunity to connect with experts, explore the latest innovations, and contribute to shaping the future of bioremediation.
